The Toyota RAV4 is going to be entering a new generation for the 2019 model year, but the arrival of the redesigned model is still a few weeks away. If you've already seen the upcoming RAV4 and prefer to stick with the older model — or you're really eager to save on your 2018 Toyota RAV4 lease or purchase — now is a great time to check out the 2018's style.

Exterior

The Toyota RAV4 has always been known for its adventurous looks. If you like to get away from downtown Lorain and out the the hiking trails and nature reservations, the RAV4 has your back. If you want a little more ground clearance for your travels, go with the Adventure trim, which was all-new for 2018. It's a few centimeters higher than the rest of the trims, and it also sports more plastic cladding and has a bold black stripe down the hood.

Even though we've been going on about how the RAV4 is an athletic model, it's still easy on the eyes and has sharp angles in the right places. Some standout exterior features include 18-inch Super Chrome wheels on select trims to show off around Norwalk OH, as well as a hands-free liftgate on the top trim.

Interior

No matter what trim you choose, you'll get a touchscreen. It starts at 6.1-inches and goes up to 7-inches once you hit the middle of the trim lineup. We also like the centralized location of the infotainment system and buttons. They're easier to reach and give the RAV4's interior a clean look and feel.

For upholstery, there are two different options. The LE, XLE, and Adventure have cloth. The SE, Limited, and Platinum trims have SofTex. This material simulates the look and feel of leather, but it is easier to clean and less expensive. However, you will get a leather-wrapped steering wheel starting on the XLE trim.
